High Surface Area Silica Particles Using Anionic Surfactant Template Prepared by One-step Spray Drying System for Dye Removal Application

This study reported the effect of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) as a template on silica morphology and its properties. The precursor was prepared by producing nanofluid sol-gel method mixed with various SLS concentrations. After that, spray-dried to generate powder. An increase in concentration up 2 critical micelle (CMC) indicates an particle size from 2.12 μm untemplated particles 2.58 μm. On other hand, when increases 3 CMC, decreases 2.19 A significant total pore volume surface area is obtained for synthesized at least around eight higher volumes than without addition. In addition, they have macropore compared addition that only exhibits mesopore. 1,011 m2/g whereas has 131 m2/g. CMC or leads physical properties because formation enough sacrificed formation. Methylene blue solution used adsorbate evaluating dye adsorption capacity followed Langmuir isothermal model. highest theoretical maximum monolayer 142.9 mg/g, adsorbent CMC.
